From classic all-white lilies to bright pink Gerber daisies, the floral world is full of options to help bring added beauty and elegance to your wedding. Flowers are a central part of most weddings, from the bouquets of the bridal party to the centerpieces on the tables of the reception. Each bridal couple has their own style that influences the types of floral design of their particular wedding, but if you’re looking for inspiration, here are a few of the trends we’ve noticed at Legacy Stables and Events.
The Natural Look. Many brides are opting for bouquets and centerpieces that have a loose, wispy, almost whimsical look and feel. This means using less greenery and creating arrangements with wildflowers and native plants. Think cosmos, poppies, hydrangeas, coneflowers, daisies and anemones.
Bright and Bold Color. Taking sort of the opposite direction of the whimsical trend, we’re also seeing brides opt for a lot of color in their bouquets. Veering away from the traditional white roses and lilies, today’s bouquets are filled with roses in striking colors, carnations, peonies, and other flowers with bold hues.
Incorporate More than Flowers. Creativity abounds in the floral trends we’ve seen for 2024. Fresh fruit, colorful ribbons, and sparkling crystals are making their way into bouquets and centerpieces. Lemons and strawberries provide colorful accents to spring and summer centerpieces, while bark and berries make a great addition in the fall and winter months.
Think Big. Flowers at weddings aren’t limited to bouquets and centerpieces. Many floral designers have great ideas to bring flowers to all parts of the ceremony and reception, from arrangements adorning the aisle for the bride to walk down to large arches or trellises framing the bridal couple as they say their vows. Couples who choose to have their ceremony outdoors at Legacy Stables and Events can hop on this trend with artistic floral displays to enhance the natural beauty of the surroundings.
Be a Friend of the Earth. The floral arrangements might be one of the most natural elements of a wedding, but there are still plenty of ways to be a better steward of the environment when choosing your designs for the big day. Look for flowers that are in season and can be sourced locally, to cut down on the emissions used in shipping. Ask for recyclable or compostable materials to be used within the arrangements. You might even consider using flowers in pots for centerpieces that can then be taken home by guests and planted in their yard.
There are a lot of things to consider when planning the flowers for your wedding. In addition to keeping up with the trends, Legacy Stables and Events has the information you need to be prepared for your first visit with the floral designer.
