Our Story

In 2014, Robert Weisner purchased Legacy Stables as a place for his granddaughters to pursue their passion of riding and competing with American Saddlebred show horses. The state-of-the-art horseback riding academy and training facility grew to be one of the largest riding complexes in the Southeast, introducing thousands of people to the elegant American Saddlebred horses.

Legacy Stables played host to thousands of people, including nationally recognized instructors and trainers who shared their talents with students young and old, from recreational riders to competitors on the national stage. The beautiful property with its gorgeous stables and detailed landscaping soon caught the eye of the thousands of people who crossed through the entrance, and the Weisners soon learned that their property was sought after not only for horse-riding instruction, but also as a backdrop for weddings and other special events.

In 2018, Legacy Stables and Events began offering The Legacy House and Grace Barn for weddings and other special events, beginning the transformation into the exquisite event venue it is today. In 2021, the Forsyth Barn completed the transformation from one of the largest horseback riding lesson facilities in the Southeast to a wonderful, 22,000 square-foot event space.

The Legacy Experience

In every endeavor we’ve undertaken at Legacy Stables and Events, we intend to provide the best quality experience you can find for your special occasion. We’ve always been ambitious in our goals of serving the Triad and surrounding areas, from our beginnings as a Saddlebred horse farm to the breathtaking corporate events and wedding venue Legacy Stables and Events has become today. Our dedication to quality and service has carried us through every stage of our farm’s legacy. In just a few short years, Legacy Stables and Events has proudly hosted hundreds of diverse celebrations for families and companies in the Triad and beyond.

We look forward to helping you plan your next event.

Sondra Warren

Executive Director of Corporate and Non-Profit Sales, Since 2014

I specialize in providing turn-key planning experiences for our Corporate and Non-Profit clients, from the first call to the execution of the event. I help you maximize your budget to create a lasting memory for your attendees.

My favorite part of working at Legacy is seeing the venues transform from event to event. They are all so unique and utilize the space in their own way that it’s never the same!

When not helping your vision become a reality, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 boys, going on their Cub Scout adventures, and playing with our 3 dogs.

Caitlynn Barth

Director of Weddings and Social Events, Since 2016

As one of the first people you will meet at Legacy on your tour of the property, we will talk about your catering, bar, and rental options, and you will leave with customized estimates based on your specific needs. I am always here to answer questions about the contract, to give wedding planning advice, or to help solve problems when they arise.

Everyone knows my favorite part of working at Legacy is sending each couple down the aisle. I love the happy tears, little whispers of encouragement, and that big moment when the barn doors open! I am known to cry at each and every ceremony I witness—it moves me every time.

I enjoy cooking, camping, and kayaking with my husband and hanging out with our cats and dogs. My craft room is always full of projects–primarily basket weaving and embroidery!

Jennifer Otten

Corporate Operations Manager, Since 2023

I work with our Corporate and Nonprofit clients on their event logistics. Floorplans, menus, AV, timeline, entertainment, and decor are all part of planning a successful event. We love to offer clients turn-key event space and will handle as many details as they would like. I love being able to use my event experience to make planning seamless.

My favorite part about working at Legacy is building relationships with clients and vendors. My passion of hospitality and the logistics of planning make every event a fun new challenge.
In my free time I like to stay busy spending time outside, listening to live music with my husband, watching the Minnesota Vikings, and trying new recipes.

Lauren Currier

Event Services Director, Since 2021

My responsibilities include scheduling planning meetings, tastings, and final walkthroughs. I also ensure that everything is organized and ready for the upcoming events.

What I love most about working at Legacy is seeing everything come together after so much hard work, and witnessing everyone come together to celebrate. The little moments always warm my heart.
In my free time, I truly enjoy doing various crafts, going to the mountains or the beach, and creating new memories wherever I go.

Kirsten Wood

Wedding Services Manager, Since 2025

I work with our Wedding and Social Event clients from their planning meeting and tasting to their final walk-through. I am really good at helping couples focus on what is most important to them and working backwards from that to put together all the little details that add up to the celebration of their love.

I love working with couples and their families to bring the vision they have for their big day to life. The magical energy of wedding days keeps me coming back for more. The grandeur of the Salem Stallway stuck with me when I first visited the property for a friend’s wedding 5 years ago, and I love the continued to strive for excellence instilled in every facet of service at Legacy.

I enjoy cooking and spending time with my husband and our beautiful little boy outside of work, and love bringing decor and catering inspiration back from our travels.
