If you’re trying to figure out the perfect date for your upcoming wedding, may we suggest a spring wedding? Of course, any time of year is beautiful at Legacy Stables and Events, but after years of experience hosting weddings of all types, we have definitely come to love a spring wedding. Here are a few reasons why.
- The Flowers! The great thing about North Carolina weather is that there are enough warm, sunny days in late winter that the flowers get a great start and are in full bloom as early as March. From the forsythia and bulbs of early spring on through the azalea and dogwood season of April, and roses and hydrangeas of May and June, you’re guaranteed to have a beautiful blooming backdrop for your wedding and all your photos at a spring wedding at Legacy Stables and Events.
In addition to what’s blooming outside, spring provides so many beautiful flowers to choose from if you want seasonal bouquets and centerpieces. Gardenias, peonies, and roses not only look beautiful in the arms of your bridal party, but they also smell heavenly/
- Wonderful weather. Not too hot, not too cold – the weather in the spring is just right. Temperatures of the spring months have warmed up a bit from the depths of winter, but haven’t yet reached the heat of summer. Even better, spring weddings get ahead of the humidity associated with summer in the South, which makes for a more comfortable outdoor wedding if that’s your choice.
However, it’s important to note Mother Nature can still be pretty fickle in the spring. A late freeze or those spring showers that help everything bloom are definitely something to plan around. Luckily, at Legacy Stables and Events, we have indoor venues for a backup if the weather isn’t perfect for an outdoor event.
- More daylight. Not only is there more sunlight with each passing day in the springtime, but you also get the added bonus of jumping ahead an hour thanks to Daylight Saving Time. More light in the evening means more time for capturing the best wedding photos, something to think about as you set the time for your ceremony and plan the wedding schedule.
- Fewer conflicts. Unlike winter, with all the big holidays, and summer, which is often filled with vacation plans, the spring months come with few significant scheduling conflicts. Other than graduations and Easter, you’re more likely to have your choice of weekends where you can plan for a wedding and be pretty sure that most guests will be able to attend.
- Budget-friendly honeymoon choices. For bridal couples planning to take off for a honeymoon immediately after the wedding, you will find that travel is cheaper in the spring than if you wait until the summer months. Not only are airfares generally a little more affordable, but many resorts and vacation destinations will be offering up “off-season” rates.
If you’re looking to start your life as a newly married couple during the season full of new beginnings, a spring wedding is a perfect choice. Make plans today to visit Legacy Stables and Events and discover how we can help bring your spring wedding vision to life.
